

Professor Efrat Aviv is an associate professor in the Department of General History at Bar-Ilan University in Israel. Her areas of expertise include the history and politics of the Turkish Republic, religious movements in Turkey, antisemitism in Turkey, Israel–Turkey relations, Turkish Jewry, and the Kurdish issue. She served as a fellow at the Vidal Sassoon International Center for the Study of Antisemitism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem from 2012 to 2015 and is also a senior researcher at the Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies. Professor Aviv is the author of Antisemitism and Anti-Zionism in Turkey: From Ottoman Rule to AKP (Routledge, 2017) and Fethullah Gülen and His Movement: The Unsolved Enigma (Magnes Press, 2024) (in Hebrew).
